Entrepreneurs Are Pushing American Consumers To Like ‘Bug Food’

Insects as food? During the past 5-10 years the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization has indicated that insects can be used as a solution to food short comings but American consumers have not been convinced yet. Eating bugs does not seem appealing enough to americans and even disgusting to some. Each year a new way of eating insects in introduced, in the hopes of winning over a few American consumers. This has manufacturers thinking that the problem maybe in the branding?

Many these days are taking the plunge and giving it their best to brand and sell these little bugs. Companies are showing up everywhere from California, Texas, Massachusetts and Utah all hoping that with their unique and creative branding they can build an insect market for consumption.

These attempts come in form of adding a bit of humor or just making them very appealing to eat or just stating all the benefits they have. It will be interesting to see who will finally be able to win over the stomachs of the American people!
